I've spent the last 18 months improving my place and my herd, and trying to catch up. I have one of the largest herds of registered Texas Longhorn Cattle around and have about 50 bulls (7 on cows). I specialize in selling Bulls and Heifers Bred for Horn and Disposition. I have the best heifers that I think I've ever had, and I've had Registered Longhorns for over 20 years.
I've made some discoveries and the greatest is: I have some really good friends. From my old best high school buddy to my many cow friends and other long-time friends, they've kept me from being lonely and brightened my life (since Bob's death), including my daughter, Nikki and her husband…I got to visit Mr. Owen McGill and Linda and Johnny last summer and they helped me pick up rocks all over their place (Their estimate was 1000 lbs on the back of my truck to take home). I love pretty rocks! They wouldn't load any cattle for me though .. guess they like their cows better than their rocks!
Mr. McGill has helped me breed for horn throughout the years. The first bull I bought from him as a yearling (Ambush 13-69"TTT) will be 12 in May and has bred my cows continuously since he was two. I just put two new McGill bulls (both Hunts Command Respect sons) on cows this year. They are Buck Board and King Pin. I have a few calves on the ground now by Buck Board.
